I’ll Take It

  • Speaking about healing
  • For those that have passed, we know where they are, and that is the victory
    • Eternal life
    • Eternal life is the goal
    • John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
  • That is something the enemy, this world, that no one can ever take away, amen? Free-Healed-no sorrow-no tears
  • Easter is coming so it is a good time to think on everything that His sacrifice really means for all of us
  • Before He rose, He gave it all, He gave His blood for all of us
  • There is so much that we can have, because of His sacrifice
  • Studied a lot
  • Sermons on it
  • But we can get frustrated.
    • Diana
    • Others in church
    • Myself
      • 2.5 months
      • Pain
      • Unable to do some things
  • It is good to remind ourselves what God says
  • It is good to be reminded of His promises
  • I will never stop talking about healing, because if 1 person is encouraged and finds that healing in Jesus, it is all worth it
  • But sometimes when I am discouraged or frustrated about something like healing – the best thing it to hear about healing
  • We all have seen healing
  • How many here, please raise your hand, have had a healing touch from God? Isn’t that amazing?
  • God is a healing God
  • I believe in Jesus who brings divine healing
  • So this morning let’s believe together for some healing for those who may need it.
  • In the Old testament, there were days of atonement, where priests would sacrifice for the people so that they could be made right with God.
  • And Jesus did that once and all for all of us, hallelujah.
  • Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
  • We are made right with God, through Jesus
  • Jesus’ blood was the atonement for all of our sin
  • But there was more that we have access to through this atonement, through this propitiation.
  • Freely given, such a high cost
  • Forgiveness –only through the blood, not our works
  • The good works are the fruits of that forgiveness
  • Eternal life was in the work of Jesus, paid in full by Jesus
  • I am not earning eternal life, and I can have a confidence that it is the blood, that it is in the atonement
  • Identity – I talk about it a lot
    • We are joint heirs
    • NEW COVENANT –
    • Head, not the tail
    • Devil is under our feet.
    • Children of light
    • I can’t do that, only Jesus could
  • New covenant allows me to put on the new thing he has made me
  • We have dominion, because we are redeemed
  • Luke 10:17 The seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” 18 He said to them, “I watched Satan fall from heaven like [a flash of] lightning. 19 Listen carefully: I have given you authority [that you now possess] to tread on [d]serpents and scorpions, and [the ability to exercise authority] over all the power of the enemy (Satan); and nothing will [in any way] harm you.
  • We have power over sin, it does not own us
  • We can overcome sin, because of Jesus
  • It is His will, it’s been paid for
  • We have access to God through the exchange
  • It is not a question is it?  it is in His Word
  • Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
  • It is a blessing and a promise
  • But healing is also in that atonement, it is in that new covenant, it is the children’s bread
  • Just like I could not be good enough to be forgiven.
  • That I could not be righteous enough to have authority
  • I could not create a new identity, it would be just as corrupt as the one I had before
  • That is why I can receive His healing, because it’s already been paid for through the sacrifice of Jesus
  • It’s in the new covenant
  • That is why I can take it
  •  When I pray for someone, I don’t pray, God, if it be your will, heal whoever it is, do I? Example
  • We believe that it is the will of God to heal, amen?
  • In Isaiah chapter 53 we see the prophecy of Jesus
  • Isaiah 53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
  • On His body were the things that we need healing for.  cancer, MS, IBS, Chrons,  any and everything there is.
  • Some people disagree with that statement, they say that it was only our spiritual sickness, but I disagree
  • I read the whole bible And if we look in the book of Matthew, chapter 8
  • See something very interesting
  • Jesus had just healed the Centurion asking for a healing for his son – – the Centurion said just a Word from you, and he will be healed, and he was.
  • And we pick up in verse 14:
  • Matthew 8:14 And when Jesus was come into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother laid, and sick of a fever. 15 And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them. 16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed ALL that were sick: 17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
  • 17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet,
  • In this verse it is fulfilling the verse in Isaiah
    • Every sickness
    • Every disease
    • Casting out every devil
  • Physical healing, thank You Jesus
  • Don’t get me wrong here
    • Salvation is the most important thing
    • But God has so much more for us in Him
  • God still speaks to us in his Word
  • God still heals, He has not changed and He wanted to make sure we knew that is part of His character
  • It shows us that it is His will to heal
  •
  •
  • James 5:13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. 14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: 15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
  • I love the confidence that is expressed in this verse
  • If you are sick, come to the Lord, and
    • because of the covenant
    • because of the blood
    • because we are in His family
    • we can receive that healing, because it belongs to us
    • if we are to go boldly to the throne of grace, well that includes our healing amen, a throne of healing as well
    • Sometimes we have to take it
      • Its ours anyways
      • Enemy will try to convince you otherwise.
        • Worthiness
        • It’s for them
        • Our past
        • What did I do to deserve this
          • When its our kids, we say give it to me, but when it is us we are like, well, I deserve it
  • I remember having a conversation with someone
  • They were sick, there were unknowns on the outcome
  • There was fear
  • And they said, it because of all that Sinning I did in the past
  • The truth is all that sinning, we did that too, and the sins we still commit, all of that can be brought under the blood and forgiven, amen? Repentance is in there, folks – not saying we have a license to sin.
  • But if Jesus died so that we could get into right standing with God, so that His very Spirit could live within us – Is He going to stop being who He is and not heal you?
  • Is it His will to heal?
  • Forgiveness of sin and healing are both in the new covenant.
  • 3 John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
  • Why would good health be important? He is praying for their physical health.
  • Our physical body is the vehicle that God uses to get the destiny or purpose that is within us through us to reach a lost and dying world
  • We live in a fallen world, not the garden of Eden
  • But we have a God who is a healer so that His Will can be done here on earth, amen?
  • So it’s not just about the soul health but our physical health as well
  • Psalm 103: Bless and affectionately praise the Lord, O my soul, And all that is [deep] within me, bless His holy name. 2 Bless and affectionately praise the Lord, O my soul, And do not forget any of His benefits; 3 Who forgives ALL your sins, Who heals ALL your diseases; 4 Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you [lavishly] with lovingkindness and tender mercy; 5 Who satisfies your years with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the [soaring] eagle.
  • God cares about every single part of us
  • So much so that he not only wants to renew or Spirit, but even our youth – I’ll take a double helping of that!
  • Is it God’s will to heal?
  • Matthew 4:23 And He went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the good news (gospel) of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness among the people [demonstrating and revealing that He was indeed the promised Messiah]. 24 So the news about Him spread throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him ALL who were sick, those suffering with various diseases and pains, those under the power of demons, and epileptics, paralytics; and He healed them.
  • I see a few things in this scripture
    • There was no disease that He did not heal
    • There was no sickness he did not heal
    • One could imagine that they did not list every disease or healing because there were so many different ones
    • John says in John 21:24 This is the disciple which testifieth of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true. 25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.
  • Our God is a healer
  • In Matthew 10 –
  • Matthew 10 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.
  • And then in verse 7
  • Matthew 10:7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
  • Jesus delegated the same thing that He was doing to the disciples
  • The disciples had a mission, the same one that Jesus did
    • Yes, to save those that were lost, praise God
    • But it is clear what else Jesus told them to do
      • Heal
      • Cleanse
      • Raise the dead
      • Cast out the enemy
    • Go do what I was doing, that is the will for the body of Christ
    • And that is what we need to do
    • We need to take it, all the gifts that He has given us, and carry out the will of God, and do what He says
  • And why does God offer us healing? I know it may be rhetorical for some people, but why does he Heal?
  • Matthew 20:30 And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David. 31 And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David. 32 And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I shall do unto you? 33 They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened. 34 So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.
  • Why does he heal? He has compassion. He loves us and through healing he can show His compassion.
  • He lived and walked in this world, he knows what we are going through
  • He knows what pain is – maybe more than any of us.
  • As much as I have been in pain, when he was beaten, he did not have hot and cold compresses
  • He did not have Aleve
  • He did not have OxyCodone
  • He knows pain, and he has compassion for us when we do
  • Mark 1:40 And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. 41 And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.
  • Again, Jesus had compassion, amen?
  • What is the lesson on compassion on Jesus healing the leper?
  • Jesus showed us who He is, who God is by touching the untouchable and by loving those who were often feared and rejected – the unlovable.
    • You may not have leprosy, but whatever reservations you have to receive healing because of who you were or what you have done, Jesus will still touch you. Jesus will still heal you.
  • God loves you! God loves you so much!
  • God heals for His glory, as well
  • John 9 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. 2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? 3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
  • I hope I never do that, see that someone needs a healing and I am worried about how they are living their life rather praying for them, amen?
  • I have met people like that
    • They need to get their life right
    • He needs to get control of his family
    • Shame on us! Shame on us!
  • If you would bear with me a moment, I really like how the Message paraphrases:
  •  John 9 1-2 Walking down the street, Jesus saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked, “Rabbi, who sinned: this man or his parents, causing him to be born blind?” 3-5 Jesus said, “You’re asking the wrong question. You’re looking for someone to blame. There is no such cause-effect here. Look instead for what God can do. – AMEN
  • God gets the glory for the healing, not for the sickness. That does not come from God, amen?
  • Our testimonies give God glory
  • Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
  • Our testimonies encourage others – as soon as we start testifying, we start building hope in others that God can do it for them
  • God heals us because we have purpose, not just to live – but to embrace his purpose for us and to be a light in the world.
  • Mark 7:26 The woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter. 27 But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it unto the dogs. 28 And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children’s crumbs. 29 And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter.
  • We are those children, through the sacrifice of Jesus, and we can take that healing that’s on the table
  • The woman was a Gentile. She wasn’t a child of God. She was outside the Covenant and he was so impressed with her. But sometimes that’s the way we pray, we come to God like God, if you’ll just give me a crumb of healing. You are a child of – God’s healing is the children’s bread. Take a large helping off the table. It belongs to you. It was paid for by the blood of Jesus. It is God’s will. Amen.
  • Teenagers – we had 4 on the weekends – Lord
  • they invade the refrigerator
  • they take everything and leave mom and dad nothing.
  • But that’s what it means to be a son and daughter in the house. We fill the groceries for their benefit. We do this for them. Mom and I will eat something later. But you know, they don’t sit there and say, dad, if it be thy will, can I have that – No – they take whatever they want because they feel comfortable in the house. Are you understanding that? They would take the food off of my plate.
  • You are the children of God. It belongs to you. Now God does heal unbelievers as well. But you as a child of God, it belongs to you.
  • Gama Diana
  • They will take what is in the house because it is theirs

  • They will take what is in the house because it is theirs

    • A touch from the Lord will not harm you
    • A touch from the Lord, it cannot be contained
    • Jesus has no boundaries. No walls can limit him
    • It cost everything, but we can freely receive it
  • The bottom line is this. God wants you spiritually healed and He wants you physically healed. Let’s pray. Heavenly Father right now in Jesus name. I thank you that you are a healer. And that Lord, you want us spiritually healed. You want us physically healed? You have testimonies for us to share with others. Lord, there’s purpose and meaning for our life as we continue, but the number one thing is God You just love us. You are moved with compassion over our lives, and so we aren’t sitting here today begging. Lord, we didn’t deserve forgiveness. We didn’t deserve right standing with you. We don’t deserve healing. But because of Jesus and because of the blood of Jesus. We thank you. For your grace. We thank you for the new covenant.
  • We pray for those that need your healing touch, that God, you would heal them right now. We pray your healing, freedom from pain, freedom from sickness, freedom from disease, from mental and emotional issues – You can heal them all! You are the God of the possible in every instance.
  • Amen
