The Joy of the Lord

THE-JOY-OF-THE-LORD-IS-MY-STRENGTH

By Pastor Jeff,

The Joy of the Lord is my strength is a verse that has been quoted I don’t know how many times in cards, songs, in paintings, pictures and so on.
But do you know where it comes from in the bible? Psalms for sure, right? maybe Proverbs after all the smartest man that ever was outside of Christ would know of Gods joy!

After the captivity of Israel, the temple, wall, had come under disrepair and under prophets like Zechariah, Haggai and others the temple was rebuilt.

Nehemiah who was the Kings cupbearer after hearing of the condition of the wall around Jerusalem sought to do something about it. After finishing it the wall despite great opposition they had a dedication, 8:1, “And all the people gathered themselves together as one man into the street that was before the water gate; and they spake unto Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law of Moses, which the LORD had commanded to Israel.” 5-8, “And Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people; (for he was above all the people;) and when he opened it, all the people stood up:
And Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God. And all the people answered, Amen, Amen, with lifting up their hands: and they bowed their heads, and worshipped the LORD with their faces to the ground. Also Jeshua, and Bani, and Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodijah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites, caused the people to understand the law: and the people stood in their place. So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.” The reaction of the people must of took Ezra and Nehemiah off guard a bit, 9-10, “And Nehemiah, which is the Tirshatha, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites that taught the people, said unto all the people, This day is holy unto the LORD your God; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law. Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”

Interesting wording isn’t it, “The Joy of the Lord” the bible tells us that what happens when one sinner repents? Luke 15:7, “I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.”
John 15:10-11, “If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.” His Joy!

Joy is a powerful feeling, to those here who have experienced the birth of a child, there is much Joy.
Have you ever been around someone when they have repented of their sins, got Baptized in Jesus name and then became filled with the Holy Ghost? The excitement is indescribable!

But Joy is something pretty hard to have when you are in a trial, witnessing suffering in those around or in you. 1 Peter 1:7-9, “That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.”

Even in struggles if you can someone just begin, somehow force yourself to start to praise God the Joy of the Lord will strengthen you.

The Joy of the Lord is your strength…
It is Joy unspeakable and full of glory…

Love Is Exciting

 By Pastor Mike

Everything that JESUS is against is happening more and more. I saw a preview on TV that there’s a show called Lucifer. They gave the devil his own show. There’s a lot of other shows that are nasty and scary and so many of them depict that everything is acceptable. Even the so-called sitcoms, they laugh about anything. We are living in the end times and it’s gonna get worse. Read the Book. We somehow got to get a show out there called JESUS. Or ACTS 2:38. Or whatever happens, JESUS wins. I’m on HIS side.

Proverbs 6:16-19

16 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:

17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,

19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

Everything here is what people turned into it’s not a big deal.

We need to accept HIS Love because it’s one of the greatest things we will ever have. JESUS loves us more than we’ll ever know. It’s unconditional. I learned that when I had my own kids. Then it was brought back big time when I got my grandkids.

When you get a hold of the love of JESUS it will bring you HIS joy.

There’s nothing more exciting than hanging on to HIS love and then experiencing HIS joy.

1 John 4:7-9

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

In John 15 JESUS talks about having a strong relationship with HIM and in verse 11, HE says – “These things have I spoken unto you, that MY JOY might remain in you, and that your joy might be full” – Holy Ghost Joy.

NEHEMIAH 8 talks about the Joy of the Lord is our strength – He strengthens us when we bring HIM JOY – we do this by being obedient to HIM and by building a super strong relationship with HIM

NEHEMIAH 8:9-12 – GOD’s commands should bring JOY

ISAIAH 51:11 – Someday JOY will be everlasting

MATTHEW 28:8 – JESUS’S resurrection brings JOY

LUKE 15: 8-10 – Earthly repentance results in heavenly JOY

GALATIANS 5:22- 23 – JOY is a “fruit” of the SPIRIT

1 PETER 1:8-9 – Love for GOD brings JOY too deep for words

Having the Holy Ghost should bring ultimate Joy –

This is GOD ALMIGHTY living in us. It’s real –

It’s powerful – It’s all of GOD in us which means that everything GOD has is ours

God’s Benefits

object000_5

By Pastor Jeff,

Everybody appreciates a job that gives you a benefit package especially one that covers health insurance these days. It has been said that someone has calculated the benefits in the bible and has counted 3573 promises, another person says it’s 5467, and even another has said 31,173 promises or in other words every verse in the bible. I will just share a few of them here as God tells us Psalms 68:19, “Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation.”

Salvation is one that is the most easy to see as John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” With that comes a place reserved in heaven for us, John 14:1-3, “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” What an awesome benefit for knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Philippians 4:7 tells also that we receive peace that passeth all understanding, 1Peter 1:8 tells us joy unspeakable, and 1Peter 1:18-19 tells us how valuable we are to Him that he purchased us with His own precious blood! 1 John 2:1 tells us that He is our advocate, Deuteronomy 31:6 and Hebrews 13:5 says that He will never leave us nor forsake us! We receive our healing by His stripes in Isaiah 53:4-5 and we receive supernatural power after we receive the precious Baptism of the Holy Ghost, Acts 1:8, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth” Mark 16:17-18, “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

These are all awesome benefits and there is another one we don’t think about much that is very important to me; it’s what King David said in Psalms 38:4, “For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me.” Sin is a horrible burden for us to bear and unfortunately even after we have has our sins remitted in the waters of Baptism in Jesus name sometimes because of tradition and church teaching we often allow mans convictions, misinterpretation of the bible to shame and humiliate us. Jesus has freed us not only from our past sins, but also the present and our future mistakes and thank God He does. Because no matter hard our try I still do stupid, but Jesus came to give us a way out from the burden of sin, Matthew 11:28-30, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” He indeed loads us down with Benefits!

Joy

Receiving-the-Joy-of-the-LORD By Pastor Mike

I greet you all in the name of our LORD and Saviour JESUS CHRIST. I love JESUS. HE is the one who will give everyone true joy. Joy is different from being happy. Happiness always comes from an outside source or even something materialistic. Joy from JESUS is something very powerful because no matter what happens, you’ll have the joy of knowing JESUS will never leave you nor forsake you. HE will be there at the mention of HIS NAME.

Psalm 16:11 “Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”

When you receive the gift of the Holy Ghost your joy will come from down deep knowing you’ll be in heaven forever with JESUS. The Holy Ghost will get you through the valley, over the mountain and knock down walls we put up in our minds and in our hearts. If you have physical, emotional, or spiritual pain, none of it will follow you into heaven. JESUS will wipe away your tears and you will have a new body. There is no sadness, pain, worry, fear in heaven and that’s forever.

Acts 13:52 And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost.”

1 John 1:4  “And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.”
