The Lord Fights for Us!

By Pastor Jeff,

I want to give you a word of encouragement this day, especially to those who have been shaken lately, for this world we live in is not a very easy place to live. It doesn’t matter if your a Christian or not, we all have rough days, weeks, months, and even longer times when it becomes very hard to keep a positive attitude or crack a smile.

The Israelites of the Old Testament were a very tough bunch to deal with, always murmuring, complaining, looking at other nations and desiring there kings, gods, and who knows what else. But God had made a promise to Abraham and his descendants and God never goes back on a promise. Exodus 14:10-14, “And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD. And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt? Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness. And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will show to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.”

We find many scriptures in the Old Testament that remind His people of that promise, that He will fight the battles for them, Moses told the people that in Exodus as well as Deuteronomy 20:1-4. Joshua also repeated this in Joshua 23:8-10, “But cleave unto the LORD your God, as ye have done unto this day. For the LORD hath driven out from before you great nations and strong: but as for you, no man hath been able to stand before you unto this day. One man of you shall chase a thousand: for the LORD your God, he it is that fighteth for you, as he hath promised you.” During the reign of Joshua the Israelites had many victories against their enemies, such as at Jericho, against the Canaanites, Amorites, Hittites, and other “ites”.

The main issue is that sometimes the Israelites stopped short of conquering the enemy such as Judges 2:1-3, “And an angel of the LORD came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I sware unto your fathers; and I said, I will never break my covenant with you. And ye shall make no league with the inhabitants of this land; ye shall throw down their altars: but ye have not obeyed my voice: why have ye done this? Wherefore I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be as thorns in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare unto you.”

God in Christ Jesus has also made many promises to us that it is He that has fought on our behalf, Romans 8:35-39, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

We may believe that Jesus will never leave us nor forsake us and that He is He that fights for us. But like the Israelites we must not stop until we see total victory, take that extra step, pray until something happens, don’t settle for a partial healing, His promises are Amen and Amen. Remember, WE HAVE THE VICTORY BECAUSE OF WHAT JESUS DID AT CALVARY!

How to Get the Victory!

By Pastor Jeff,

Deuteronomy 20:1-4, “When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the LORD thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. And it shall be, when ye are come nigh unto the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak unto the people, And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them; For the LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.”

Israel had many battles in which God miraculously went before to ensure victory for the nation, Joshua at Jericho, Gideon against the Midianites, Jonathan against the Philistines to name a few. But the question is, was the victory prepared before the battle or is only announced after the battle is won? We normally think or give credit  for victory after the battle, whether it be at war, a sporting event, test has finished.

Others will claim the victory is in the preparation for the battle, if you believe in yourself or those that fight with you that you have already won. We do a lot of preparation for battle don’t we? we need to identify who are foe is, with Christians we know our foe is Satan, for we wrestle not against flesh and blood… We also need to know the place the battle is taking place (what kind of terrain, etc.). We need to know those who fight with us, the strengths of each as well as their weaknesses. We also would need to know the right time to go into battle {for us Christians now would be good).

1 John 5:4-5, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?” God revealed to me in the story of the “Prodigal Son” a key for us to knowing we have the victory already in our lives. Most of us know it well, how the youngest son desired his inheritance then went and wasted it. He found himself slopping pigs and eating the very food he was feeding them. The bible tells us one day that he came to himself and decided to return to his fathers house if only to be as one of his servants. Well the father one day looked out and saw his son and most of us might of reacted differently in that we would of maybe had him sent away, or required him to work as a servant or even a slave. Isaiah 55:8-9, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” The father didn’t react as many of us would think he should of, he instead ran to his son, wrapped his arms around him, gave his son his ring and a new robe, and announced a party to announce his sons return.

There was a  period in my own walk in that I found myself in the pig pen slopping pigs, I felt that no way God would ever take me back, but one day I came to myself, recognized the need of Jesus to take over my life again. Unfortunately I felt if I would of returned to the church that I had attended that I would be negatively judged because I had witnessed this attitude of  the church before, shame on us! Praise God though I did find a church that I was not known before and was roundly accepted. This is the attitude that JAM tries to portray!

If we have entered the race, we have the victory already, and though we may stumble, make huge mistakes, or may even fall away for a time. Jesus has already won the victory, 1 Corinthians 15:57, “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

The Kingdom of God

Seek-ye-first-Kingdom-of-God[1] By Pastor Mike

Matthew 4:23

“And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.”

Matthew 9:35-36

“And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. 36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.”

Matthew 24:14

“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”

We see in these scriptures that JESUS was preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom. We need to understand that the Kingdom of GOD is right here on earth. If you have the Holy Ghost you have all the power that JESUS displayed here on earth. We have the ability to heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out demons, when we yield ourselves and are used by JESUS. HE is the one doing all of that. We are the earthen vessels HE is looking for.

You see in those scriptures that He healed ALL sickness and ALL diseases. Not just certain ones but every single sickness and every single disease. From colds to pneumonia to cancer to cuts and broken bones. Everyone got healed. People possessed of demons were set free.

Matthew 6:10

“Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.”

Everything we know that’s in Heaven is for us right now and for every second of our lives. No suffering. No pain. No sickness. No diseases. No sadness. No depression or anxiety. We have victory over the enemy.

See, satan is the ruler of this world and he’s running it and he’s doing his best to destroy it and every one in it. Satan has his kingdom here because when you look around, you’ll see all the drugs, alcohol, abortions, murders, suicides, addictions, shame, abuse, fear, and lots of sins are made to look like they help us, like it’s no big deal, everyone else does it, be politically correct. I say we need to stand strong and be Spiritually correct. That’s why we need the Holy Ghost so we can defeat anything satan throws at us. We are not under satan’s rule, we belong to the KING of kings and the LORD of lords and HIS name is JESUS. The Holy Spirit that’s given to us has a lot to do with the Kingdom.

JESUS’ message for salvation when HE was among the people was to believe in HIM in order to be saved. JESUS explains to Nicodemus what is actually required, that we must be “born again.” We all gotta be born of the Water and of the Spirit to enter the Kingdom. We all come into the world first by a physical birth. In order to come into the Kingdom of GOD, we gotta have a spiritual birth.

Everything JESUS did, supported everything JESUS said.

This is GOD’s church so that means we are the community of the Kingdom of GOD. We need to tell people about JESUS and let the miracles happen because we serve a miracle-working GOD. As we show folks the power of the Spirit, we’ll see more coming to JESUS. We’re gonna see more people getting healed, being set free. Families will be restored.  I’m claiming all of this because the Kingdom of GOD is here.
