When are we Going Home?

By Pastor Jeff,

John 14:1-3, “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” Revelations 22:20, “He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.”

Nothing gets me more excited than when I get to talk about end-times, for I truly believe that we are at the very day that Jesus Christ can return at any moment. It however frustrates me when I hear those that look at a certain event coming and then declare that this is the day that the world as we know it will end. We witnessed that recently as some so called prophets (self proclaimed) declared that this past Saturday, September 23rd was fulfilment of Revelations 12:1-6 when it was a stretch at best! Well we can look at our calendar and clearly see that this day has come and gone but we still are here. People have been setting dates of the Lords return for generations against what the Word of God tells us in Matthew 24:36, “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.”

With that saying, I do see much that is happening in our world that do point to the soon return of Jesus Christ, and I would like to quickly share some of them with you. (I have written and published a book on “Endtimes” that goes into a deeper study of bible prophecy which I can make available on request.) We don’t have to look to far to see how much technology is advancing the fulfilment of the “Mark of the Beast” mentioned in Revelations 13:13-18. One being the IPhone 8 and the soon coming IPhone X with face recognition, chatbots as they call them are being increasingly used and put into our everyday lives such as those that are being used  at the Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts to give council to those who are at the end of their lives.

Customers at the Costcutter store, at Brunel University in London, can now pay using their unique vein pattern to identify themselves. It works by using infrared to scan people’s finger veins and then links this unique biometric map to their bank cards. There also seems to be an optimistic possibility of Israel, Palestine and other Arab nations to have the long sought peace treaty that we find in Daniel 9:20-27.

So, when are we going home?

Many people try to imagine what heaven will be like, we do know of the streets of gold, pearly gates, tree of life and other things mentioned in our bible. We also know that there will be no more sickness, pain, or death. We know that we will have a light there will not come from a light switch, our Sun or any other star, but from our only Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ.

I believe with all my heart from the understanding I have found in the word of God that He is coming and coming quickly! There is only one way that we or any other one can get there, that is to become “Born Again” by the water and the spirit and we, as those that know this have a great responsibility to tell others of that fact!  Luke 22:45-49, “Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things. And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.”

God’s Benefits

By Pastor Jeff,

Everybody appreciates a job that gives you a benefit package especially one that covers health insurance these days. It has been said that someone has calculated the benefits in the bible and has counted 3573 promises, another person says it’s 5467, and even another has said 31,173 promises or in other words every verse in the bible. I will just share a few of them here as God tells us Psalms 68:19, “Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation.”

Salvation is one that is the most easy to see as John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” With that comes a place reserved in heaven for us, John 14:1-3, “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” What an awesome benefit for knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Philippians 4:7 tells also that we receive peace that passeth all understanding, 1Peter 1:8 tells us joy unspeakable, and 1Peter 1:18-19 tells us how valuable we are to Him that he purchased us with His own precious blood! 1 John 2:1 tells us that He is our advocate, Deuteronomy 31:6 and Hebrews 13:5 says that He will never leave us nor forsake us! We receive our healing by His stripes in Isaiah 53:4-5 and we receive supernatural power after we receive the precious Baptism of the Holy Ghost, Acts 1:8, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth” Mark 16:17-18, “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

These are all awesome benefits and there is another one we don’t think about much that is very important to me; it’s what King David said in Psalms 38:4, “For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me.” Sin is a horrible burden for us to bear and unfortunately even after we have has our sins remitted in the waters of Baptism in Jesus name sometimes because of tradition and church teaching we often allow mans convictions, misinterpretation of the bible to shame and humiliate us. Jesus has freed us not only from our past sins, but also the present and our future mistakes and thank God He does. Because no matter hard our try I still do stupid, but Jesus came to give us a way out from the burden of sin, Matthew 11:28-30, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” He indeed loads us down with Benefits!

Keep Your Focus!

young-child-boy-looking-telescope-1455925  By Pastor Jeff

We are living in a day in which it is very easy to lose our focus after all we have to worry about terrorist attacks, information breaches, legalizing of gay marriage debate, riots against our police, and the list goes on and on. To keep our focus on what God and what He wants for His church can become easily overshadowed which is just what our enemy the devil wants. 1 Peter 5:8, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”.

Recently I had a dream concerning this, I saw Satan with a smile as He watched, accused, confused the church of Jesus Christ. Satan is a liar as Jesus tells us in the gospel of John in fact he is called the “father of lies”.  In this dream I was raptured into heaven where praise God I recognized many a familiar face which brought a huge smile to my face. But as it continued I found myself in a room with others and our Lord Jesus Christ, we were being allowed to ask questions and immediately I raised my hand and asked if there was anyone in heaven that had been baptized in the titles the “Father, Son, and Holy Ghost?” as our Lord shook His head no, I found myself weeping as the thought of millions and even billions that have not been baptized in the precious name of Jesus Christ as the word declares in Acts 2:38, “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

I woke up shortly after and found myself still shedding tears, after pondering this in my mind and heart have purposed to be more focused on telling others of the need to be born again of the “Water and the Spirit” and the need to be baptized in immersion in the name of Jesus Christ which is the only example of baptism given to us in the scriptures. (see Acts 10:44-48, Acts 19:1-6)

I was also reminded of what the book of Jude 20-23, “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.” We need to resist being caught up in all the things around us that prevent us from doing what God’s purpose for the church is, to reach the lost. We will never win the debate with those that have a worldly view of things unless their hearts and minds are transformed by the power of God. We need to keep our focus and with compassion and maybe a little fear tells others of the eternal life they can have through Jesus Christ!
