“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only” James 1:22
I know that GOD has a plan for us and this church. Don’t you?
And HE puts up signs to direct us. Not tiny hard to see signs. I believe GOD puts up billboards. I believe HE makes clear the direction that HE wants us to take. HE makes clear HIS WORD and where HE wants us to follow. HE makes plain HIS message and what HE wants us to do. It’s in HIS WORD.
The message JESUS gave HIS followers back in the day is still the message HE gives each of us today. Hearing GOD will challenge our comfort zone
Matthew 8:1-4
” When He had come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed Him. And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. And Jesus said to him, “See that you tell no one; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”
I love these stories of JESUS’ healing! They show us the great love of JESUS. They show us the compassion HE has on people back then and for today. There was no cure for this poor man with his disease. He was banished from his home, his city, his life. Then JESUS changed this man’s life forever.
How many times does JESUS try to teach us to think nothing of our own desires, but to think of others? Being a doer. Being a servant.
Does the voice of GOD challenge us and change us? Does the word and message of GOD cause us to want to do something? Are you living in a comfort zone? Or are you living in GOD’s zone?
Titus 2:14
“who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.”
We not called to be normal people. We are a peculiar people. Different from the world. We are in the world but not of the world.
JESUS died for us to redeem us, to rescue us, to save us from our sins, to make us HOLY, to draw us to HIM as a peculiar people. JESUS came to pull us out of the world of sin. We should be people that are passionate for JESUS and tell everyone about HIM, staying on fire, unstoppable in being used by JESUS for Miracles.
He wants passionate worship. Where we are obsessed with loving JESUS. Where we are fanatical in our praise. Where we are slain in the Holy Spirit.
Hearing what GOD says, and then doing it, requires a willingness on our part to take action. You can hear the best preaching you ever heard in your life but if you don’t do something about it and let the WORD change you, then anything can happen.
Today is the day of salvation. Today is the day to repent and get Baptized in JESUS name and get filled with the Holy Ghost.
Let JESUS become stronger than your strength and greater than your weakness.
How you let GOD change you from a hearer into a doer is not by squeezing harder but it is by letting your grip go. Instead of clinching and hanging on so tight to who you are and what you have. Instead you turn it all over to HIM. You gotta turn over your life, your family, your job, your entertainment, your joy, everything in your life over to GOD.
