Following the Commandments

A few months ago when our Sunday School children under the direction of our wonderful Sunday School team recited the 10 Commandments, as a Pastor, I was very proud of them. As they were reciting them it got me thinking how many people in the world know them. I looked on the internet and found a lot of interesting facts. More people know what’s in a Big Mac then even half of the  10 Commandments. Over 60% of people asked didn’t know that Thou shalt not kill was one of the commandments.

I remember learning them as a child but as time went on and we stopped going to church, I forgot most of them. Oh, I remembered not to kill, steal, lie and honor your parents. When I came to be born of the water and of the Spirit, I started reading and studying the Word of God. All the commandments are very important and we should follow them. When I got to study the first four commandments it made me realize how much we need to put all our focus on JESUS and put HIM first in everything in our lives. When we seek JESUS first and let HIM lead us in our lives we will understand that we are victorious. We also know that HE will never leave us nor forsake us. HE is always with us. That’s 24/7. So stay strong in HIS Word and build a super strong relationship with JESUS. HE loves you more than you’ll ever know. Love HIM back and you’ll see that your joy will be overflowing.
