Behold I come Quickly

Re22By Pastor Jeff,

Three times in chapter 22 of Revelations we have Jesus telling us “Behold I come Quickly”, this was penned by the Apostle John over 1900 years ago and we have yet to have this promise fulfilled. It is not my intention in this message to prove to you that we are living in the last of the last days of mankind on this earth. It is my intention for this to be a positive message even though it might not seem so initially.

Most of you can see in our nation that we have many problems that point to a country that has abandoned God. But you might not be aware of things that are happening elsewhere in our world.

In Matthew 24,  it talks of wars and rumors of wars and we don’t have to look to far in history and see that we’ve had wars going on for centuries. But in our day we have only 11 out of 162 countries in the world that currently are at peace. We have so many going on that they have to rank them according to the number of casualties they have with major wars having 10,000+ deaths in the past year in which we currently have 4.

The bible also mentions rumors of wars and the relationship between the United States and Russia continues to go from bad to worse.  The installation of a missile defense system in Romania is just the latest incident that has the Russians absolutely steaming, and during a public appearance on June 17th Russian President Vladimir Putin tried to get western reporters to understand that the world is being pulled toward war, “We know year by year what’s going to happen, and they know that we know. It’s only you that they tell tall tales to, and you buy it, and spread it to the citizens of your countries. You people in turn do not feel a sense of the impending danger – this is what worries me. How do you not understand that the world is being pulled in an irreversible direction? While they pretend that nothing is going on. I don’t know how to get through to you anymore.”

At the same time all of this is going on, the global economic crisis continues to escalate.  Even though U.S. financial markets are in great shape at the moment, the same cannot be said for much of the rest of the world. Just look at the country that is hosting the Olympics this summer.  Brazil is mired in the worst economic downturn that it has seen since the Great Depression of the 1930s, and Rio de Janeiro’s governor has declared “a state of financial emergency“. Next door, the Venezuelan economy has completely collapsed, and some people have become so desperate that they are actually hunting cats, dogs and pigeons for food.

Brother Jeff you are bumming me out, you said at the beginning that this would be a positive message…Behold I come quickly!

Jesus is coming soon, morning, night, or noon, that is good news, and the reason I tell you of the things that are happening is not to scare you but to show you how much Jesus loves us.

2 Peter 3:8-10, “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.”

Jesus will do just about anything to get you saved and to keep you saved, the things written in this book about the end times are there to show His love for you. The reason He has not come yet is because every soul no matter your age, sex, IQ, color, religion, is so very important to Him!

John 3:16 is clear, “For God so loved the world…”

John 14:1-3, “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”

We say repeat what is written in the book of Revelations chapter 22:20 & 21 “He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.”
