We are living in a day in which it is very easy to lose our focus after all we have to worry about terrorist attacks, information breaches, legalizing of gay marriage debate, riots against our police, and the list goes on and on. To keep our focus on what God and what He wants for His church can become easily overshadowed which is just what our enemy the devil wants. 1 Peter 5:8, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”.
Recently I had a dream concerning this, I saw Satan with a smile as He watched, accused, confused the church of Jesus Christ. Satan is a liar as Jesus tells us in the gospel of John in fact he is called the “father of lies”. In this dream I was raptured into heaven where praise God I recognized many a familiar face which brought a huge smile to my face. But as it continued I found myself in a room with others and our Lord Jesus Christ, we were being allowed to ask questions and immediately I raised my hand and asked if there was anyone in heaven that had been baptized in the titles the “Father, Son, and Holy Ghost?” as our Lord shook His head no, I found myself weeping as the thought of millions and even billions that have not been baptized in the precious name of Jesus Christ as the word declares in Acts 2:38, “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
I woke up shortly after and found myself still shedding tears, after pondering this in my mind and heart have purposed to be more focused on telling others of the need to be born again of the “Water and the Spirit” and the need to be baptized in immersion in the name of Jesus Christ which is the only example of baptism given to us in the scriptures. (see Acts 10:44-48, Acts 19:1-6)
I was also reminded of what the book of Jude 20-23, “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.” We need to resist being caught up in all the things around us that prevent us from doing what God’s purpose for the church is, to reach the lost. We will never win the debate with those that have a worldly view of things unless their hearts and minds are transformed by the power of God. We need to keep our focus and with compassion and maybe a little fear tells others of the eternal life they can have through Jesus Christ!
