Don’t let Satan Lie to You!

By Pastor Jeff,

John 8:44, “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”

The very first lie recorded in our Bible is found In Genesis 3:4, “And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:” The devil will also be responsible for the last lie found in Revelations 20:7-8, “And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.” In between these verses we find the result of mankind’s acceptance of the first lie.

There are many lies that throughout history we have been subjected to and will be until sin is cast into the lake of fire. One lie is that there is no God, the atheist movement though not a very large portion of our population has become more and more bold in promoting their agenda in our media, schools, and governments. If we seriously look at this beautiful world we live in we can come to no other conclusion that there was a intelligent designer in all, Romans 1:20, “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:” Another lie is that has some truth in it, which Satan often tries to do, is that we can never be good enough to come to God. That is true, we in ourselves can never ever become good enough in ourselves, but what the devil does not tell you is that Jesus Christ went to the cross to allow us to come to God and then Jesus Christ makes us good, Ephesians 2:10, “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”

Some believe the lie that healing is not for them, Isaiah 53:5, “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” This was not just for the early church but a promise to all!

I can go on and on about the lies such as that God doesn’t love you because of your sin, that there is no Heaven or no Hell, that God will never, ever send anyone to an eternal hell because He is love, God doesn’t want us happy, we don’t have to walk around looking like we just got done sucking on a lemon. But I want to finish in talking about what I would consider one of the most damning lies. The one that says that we don’t have to be “Born Again” to go to heaven. John 3:3, “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” and 5, “Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water ,and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God”. I implore you to study the book of Acts to see how the Born Again experience was fulfilled, for you will see that being born of the water (Baptism in the name of Jesus Christ) and of the Spirit (being filled with the evidence of speaking of tongues) is clearly evident.

Don’t fall for Satan’s lies, eternity is a long time to have missed eternity with Jesus Christ because of settling for a half truth.

His Beautiful Creation

Myrtlebeach   By Pastor Jeff

Recently I had the great opportunity to spend some time in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. I’ve had the great blessing of being there several times now and every time when I stand on the beach looking over the vast ocean that our Lord Jesus Christ created it just takes my breath away! I can’t help not just to wade out into the ocean with the waves hitting my body to lift up my hands to Him and just thank Him for the beautiful word He created for us. After each day in our God’s creation of this world and the heavens that we can see and can’t see, He told us it “was good” and after He finished on the sixth day God said in Genesis 1:31, “…it was very good”! How can anyone look at all the beauty that is on our world or even look up in the vast skies and ever think that this came about as an accident some several billion years ago. Psalms 139:14, “I will praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made, marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well”  To study and understand the complexity of everything on this earth, living and non-living and declare that some cosmic boom that happened 12-15 billion years ago formed our universe, and out of that 4 billion years ago our moon and earth developed, then through a chemical reaction occurring on its own a cell was formed, then so on and so on until we have what we have before us takes a tremendous amount of faith not “true science” to believe. So the next time I have the opportunity to stand on a beach and look over one of our oceans, to look up into the heavens on a star lit night, to look at a sunrise or sunset, to see a deer run across our backyard, or hold in my arms a newborn baby, I will once again lift up my hands to the heavens and thank God for His beautiful creation!
